I have 2 xbox one s wireless controllers which I would like to use with retropie one white and one black. It's one of those things where the work involved may not be worth it I have only heard of two cases of people running into this issue. In that case it doesn't happen often that someone has thisthey just need to do this - we can document it. But where to you want to tell people to plug in only one controller? The message should pop up before input configuration starts. TBH, it's pretty rare, so I'm not sure how important it is to handle this - and it can be done manually of course. It would be more common that someone with two controllers the same, want the same layout and in this case only want to configure once.

Is GUID the serial number of a controller? We would need some specific config option for this, as this is a niche case same name, with different layouts. I will do a PR for it so it can have some testing. Yes my Dragonrise controllers were one of those, that's one of the main reasons we removed all the preconfigured controls as they were conflicting too much with certain controllers and made the controls all jammy. It would be more annoying if I use both of them at the same time. I agree that this is not a common issue, but it was driving me mad because those 2 gamepads are the one I may use the most frequently both for different reasons and I did not want to reset the inputs everytime I switch the gamepads. The easiest solution would just be to purchase another controller vs the effort of sorting all this out.

This is a minor issue imho, as this is the first I have heard of someone with two devices, with the same name but different layouts. I can probably add the GUID to the ES config, but if If retroarch doesn't have support then it will need to be put in as a request on their bugtracker. The remaining task would be to make Retroarch compatible with another way to identify the controller. This solution currently works in EmulationStation. However, the physical disposition of the buttons is different, which means that if I configure one of the gamepad, the other one will have the buttons A swapped with B and X swapped with Y. However, I happen to have 2 different types of gamepads which firmware is made by the same company while the brand of the gamepads are differentso their udev name is the same "USB, 2-axis 8-button gamepad ". It is actually related to the configuration of controllers in EmulationStation and retroarch.Ĭurrently the controllers are identified by their name name attribute given by udev. I was thinking i need to manually set each players configuration in a file somewhere but i have no idea where to start.GitHub is home to over 40 million developers working together to host and review code, manage projects, and build software together. This player cannot play a game.Ĭan someone help me set this up correctly to identify each Player and configure each player to work across all emulators. Īrcade games through Mame or Flibretro has the same issue except player 3 seems to only be able to access the Emulator menu i.e take screenshots, access menu etc. For example Player 2 A,B,X,Y buttons become split up over player 3 and 4 randomly. As in the buttons configurations that were previously setup up dont stick. When loading up an emulator for example Snes players 1 and 2 configurations go out of whack. Under input P1 through P4 the only information i can see is I can go through Menu > Controller Settings > Configure a Controller and configure each encoder I have 4 Zero-Delay Encoders that are being displayed as Dragonrise Inc Encoders. I am needing some help configuring a 4 player Zero-Delay Encoder setup.
